Cookies

Version 1.2. In force from 13 October 2026.

The short version

  • We use two cookies, both for what you asked us to do: one keeps you signed in, and one remembers your school if you tick the box.
  • No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, and nothing from anyone else.
  • That is why there is no cookie banner: the law does not ask for one when every cookie is needed for the service to work.

What we put on your device

NameWhat it doesHow long it lasts
pmb_sessionKeeps you signed in. Set only when you sign in, and only for the address you signed in atUntil you sign out, or until you have been away long enough that we sign you out
pmb_schoolRemembers your school’s address. Set only if you tick “Remember this school on this device”A year, or until you untick the box
pmb-paper-flagsRemembers which questions you flagged in a timed paper, so a reload does not lose them. Kept in the browser, never sent to usUntil you close the tab

How we count visits

We count visits to our public pages without cookies and without any code in your browser. Each day’s count uses a code that changes every day, so yesterday’s visitor cannot be matched to today’s. We never count a school’s pages or anything you see once signed in, and we never follow anyone from one site to another.

Help videos

Our help videos are played from our own storage, by your browser’s own player. They set no cookies and never play by themselves.

More

What we do with your data is in our privacy notice.
